Dog showing ...
Archie's 1st dog show was on 24 May 2009 and he was 8 months old. It was the Gundog Breeds Association for Scotland (GBAS) and was judged by Margaret Struthers. Even at an early age ... Archie showed a real 'character' in the show ring and he won 1st Puppy in AV Import Register. His critique:
Harvey's Gaesten Supersachie. Very outgoing 8 months old male. Strong and firm in body. Needs to settle to assess properly. He has plenty of time. |
We didn't compete again in the show circuit until May 2012 as I felt it important to allow him to have fun as a young male boy. So, we started back at Ringcraft in early 2012 but it was difficult to begin with as Archie didn't actually like being 'handled' anymore, and so it was small baby-steps and regular classes until he realised that there was nothing to fear. He now competes confidently and still has that wonderful 'character' and will often 'yodel' after his competition class!
Here is a list of his shows and critiques, where given ...

1st in AV Import Register (open) Harvey’s Gaesten Supersachie. Lovely to find a Lagotto Romagnolo being shown, it is such a shame that this breed remains on the register as there are so many good ones around and from this talented kennel this 4 years old brown male is no exception, lovely well constructed head and dark bright eyes, good strength of neck, shoulders well set and firm back. Well bodied and ribbed with good depth, nice front assembly and strong rear quarters. Good bone and tight feet. Super coat and in lovely presentation. Moved out well and was sound. |
